In today’s world with so many allergens and chemicals in our air we often think we are destined to have to suffer under the fire of poor air quality. However, there are some very simple ways we can help to improve the air quality of our indoor spaces.
By using a vacuum with a HEPA filter you can help reduce concentrations of allergens like pollen, pet dander, and dust mites.
Bring nature inside. You can make any room healthier and prettier with a fern, spider plant, or aloe vera. NASA research shows that indoor plants like these act as living air purifiers.
Avoid overuse of air fresheners. One study found plug-in air fresheners release as many as 20 different volatile organic compounds (VOCs), including seven regulated as toxic or hazardous by U.S. Federal guidelines. Alternatively you can use sliced lemons and baking soda to get a clean scent in any room.
A dehumidifier can help to reduce moisture in indoor air and effectively helps to control allergens.
